The Simpsons Game
The game follows the five Simpson family members, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, who learn they are part of a video game and are given unique superpowers.

My Animation Director Role
- Joined the team at inception and directed some of the games key visual design features such as fat ball Homer
- Worked directly with the Film Roman (The Simpsons TV Show Animation Studio) leadership team to protect and deliver the best in-game character visuals
- Directed a team of 7+ in-house animators maintaining a daily review and feedback schedule
- Managed the technical animation and character requirements including the creation of our Camera Deformation System and Step-Key facial expression and dialogue system
- Animated characters and worked closely in animation pipeline and state tree creation

Behind the Scenes
We created a unique Camera Relative Deformation system to ensure the 3D representations of the beloved 2D characters remained on-model. This required deforming the characters features (blend shapes) depending on the camera angle to best match how the character would look in the 2D show from that same angle. Without this feature the 3D characters would quickly become off-model and look just plain scary. Check out the 3D Bart Overview video below for more info.
